I am a Digital Marketer (primarily SEO expert), and I have worked with over 500+ clients in their SEO needs. So yes, I know these tools work. These tools are my bread and butter, and without these, i am not sure where I would have been Maybe doing a 9-5 job at an MNC – Engineer this side 😀
So without wasting any time here is the list of best white hat SEO tools:

1. Ahrefs (14-day free trial available)

This is by far the most amazing, fabulous, trustworthy and fantastic tool. Why I use so many adjectives is because this one deserves all the accolades.
Apart from On-page SEO, you must know that high-quality backlinks are what drives the ranking of a website up in search results.
The best way to find link opportunities is by looking at the links of sites that are already ranking. This tool gives the most comprehensive list of backlinks for any website. Doing Competitor analysis becomes so simple after you start using this tool.

Backlink analysis is just one of the feature. There are tons of other useful options like:
1.   Keyword analysis
2.   Link Alerts
3.   Finding out top pages of any websites and so much more.

As long as my Macbook is open,  you will always find a browser tab with ahrefs on it. Let me give you an example of using Ahrefs. Let’s take an example of my post: Best blogs in India
Here is what ahrefs screen looks like:

Alternative for ahrefs: Semrush. This works like ahrefs, both are good. I have used both of them, but I have found Ahrefs to be much more reliable and easy to use.

2. Buzzstream (60 day trial available)

The way you build backlinks in 2017 has changed a lot. You cannot buy links now, you need to make them manually, and it is a time-consuming process. Email outreach is the best way to connect with people and make those high-quality backlinks.

Now if you are sending hundreds of emails then tracking the replies and sending reminders becomes a pain in the A**. And this is where buzzstream comes to rescue. It completely takes over your Email outreach and will reduce your workload by at least 10 times.

Regular reminders, Email open rate and click tracking, link prospecting and so much more. If you want to invest in just two SEO tools, then my favorite recommendations will be Ahrefs and Buzzstream. It has a 60-day trial only if you visit through this unique link: Buzzstream free 60 daytrial

3. Similarweb

There are so many useful plugins installed in my Chrome browser that help in my SEO workflow.
Similarweb is one such website with an amazing browser extension.
It gives an estimation of the number of visits a website is getting. Percentage breakup of traffic sources, popular content and so much more in just a click of a button. That too FREE of cost. Yes, it is free to use. To be able to get advanced features you will need to buy the pro version, but trust me free version is more than enough
Here is a link to the Chrome extension: SimilarWeb chrome
Like for example, let’s talk about scoop whoop (the biggest viral site of India), here is a snapshot of its similarweb analytics:

As you can see they drive approximately 30 million visitors/month. Also, you can see that the majority of the traffic is coming form Facebook and other social media sites.

Tips for White Hat SEO

1.   Yes, tools make the life easier, but don’t just reply on them for building backlinks. You also need to be smart in your approach.
2.   Don’t use too many tools. I see so many newbie bloggers and so learners to start spending too much time with multiple tools. You only need few that works. I make all my and my clients backlinks using just ahrefs and buzzstream. So if I can do it, then you can too
3.   Don’t reinvent the wheel. Learn from the pros. The best way to learn is to look at case studies that are not more than one year old (Seo environment is highly volatile, and it keeps on changing). So if I have to name one person that can help you learn all about SEO is Brian Dean of backlinko.

So this was it form my side. I hope I was able to show you a new perspective about SEO (especially white hat SEO). SEO requires a lot of efforts from your end. Yes, there will be times when you will have to work for 12-13hrs/day for each week. But trust me sincere efforts do not go in vain and will reward you with long lasting and promising results.
The key to success in SEO is “PATIENCE.”
As said by Aristotle – “Patience is bitter but its fruit is sweet.”
Keep putting efforts in the right way and in the right direction to achieve excellent results.
